New Online MS and Certificate Programs in Learning Design or Teaching

Moody School of Education’s Professional Online Learning Unit has started a new online master’s program and two certificate programs.

MS in Learning Design and Technology

The fully online MS in Learning Design and Technology is a 30-credit hour program designed to equip graduates with the tools and expertise to build effective, inclusive, and accessible digital learning experiences for any audience.

Courses are offered on a trimester calendar and the degree can be completed in as few as 12 months on the accelerated path. The degree is ideal for educators looking to enhance their digital teaching toolkit, corporate trainers or HR professionals aiming to design more engaging learning experiences, healthcare professionals involved in patient or staff training, or career changers looking to enter the booming field of learning design and technology.

“The demand for skilled learning design and technology professionals is surging as organizations everywhere seek innovative ways to educate and train,” said Dr. Chris Zakrzewski, director of learning design for Baylor University Libraries. “For those looking to make a meaningful career shift, this online graduate program offers a direct pathway to not only meet this critical need but to truly shape the future of how we learn.”

Key benefits of the MS in Learning Design and Technology

•100% Virtual Experience: Students complete asynchronous assignments and attend live, virtual sessions from anywhere in the world.

• Accelerated Pathways: The MS-LDT can be completed in as few as 12 months.

• Hands-On Lab Experience: The MS-LDT program includes three interactive technology labs, allowing students to gain real-world experience using the latest multimedia production tools and software.

• Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technology Integration: Students are immersed in hands-on learning with the latest emerging technologies and artificial intelligence tools that are transforming the future of learning design across industries.

Certificate Programs

Professional Online Learning also offers two new graduate certificate programs to enhance students’ online skills, either of which can be completed in just four months:

• The Certificate in Learning Design and Technology is composed of four courses (12 credit hours) within the online MS degree. Graduates of the MS program earn the certificate as part of their degree, or the certificate can be pursued separately as a stand-alone credential.

• The Certificate in Online Teaching and Learning equips graduates to design and deliver instructional content in digital environments spanning a broad range of contexts, including K1-2 learners, higher education, human resource and other business-related training, and continuing education in a variety of fields. The four-course program (12 credit hours) is delivered fully online.
